63 PEOPLE - INCLUSIVE WORLD Health and safety Workplace protection is implemented and enforced through an effective management system that complies with the highest safety standards (Social Accountability System SA 8000), involving not only direct employees but also external collaborators and stakeholders across the entire value chain. Our Safety Policy is based on the following principles: • compliance with legal requirements; • prevention of safety risks; • developing awareness and training among our workforce on safety; • maintaining transparent and proactive relationships with third parties; • actively engaging all resources within the organizational structure. The Risk Assessment and Management process, carried out by prevention and protection service managers under the responsibility of the employer (pursuant to Articles 17 and 28 of Legislative Decree 81/08 and subsequent amendments), and formalized in the Risk Assessment Document (DVR), unfolds in several phases: • Hazard Identification is based on documentation from INAIL research on sector-specific risk profiles, as well as on insights from experience and contributions by those involved in the assessment process (Prevention and Protection Service Manager, Workers’ Safety Representative, Occupational Physician, employees, etc.); • In the second phase, each hazard is assessed using established quantitative methods where available, or through estimates based on likelihood and severity of potential damage (e.g., fire, chemical exposure, manual handling of loads, vibrations, electromagnetic fields, biomechanical overload, work-related stress, pregnant workers, etc.). The results of the risk assessment for each role are recorded in the Task Matrix Form (MODA01_VDR); • Based on the risks identified for specific job roles and the findings from accident analysis, an Improvement Plan is developed to eliminate or, where this is not possible, minimize risk factors. In particular, to identify targeted improvement actions, the Non-Conformity Register (MODH05_VDR) is completed by those involved (RSPP, Employer, Supervisors), reporting not only shortcomings to be addressed but also potential situations that could lead to non-conformities (near misses). Workers are actively engaged in all phases of the process and are made accountable by being provided with information documents on general and specific risks, as reported in the Job-Information Material Matching Form (MODA02_VDR), followed by the completion of the Information Material Delivery Form (MOD.A02_VDR). Furthermore, all employees periodically receive specific training at the workplace, delivered by qualified personnel and certified through the Training Acknowledgment Form (MOD.H04_VDR) and recorded in the Training Register Form (MODH03_VDR). This training is provided at the start of employment, in case of job changes, or when new technologies are introduced.
