52 2024 Sustainability Report Material innovation and circular economy In 2024, we continued to pursue our sustainability goals with determination, consolidating and enhancing existing practices while introducing new initiatives. Among the most significant actions, we maintained the recovery of 100% of steel scraps and offcuts, as well as the full recovery of wooden pallets, initiatives launched in 2022. These waste materials are directed for reuse in other sectors. To meet customer expectations and minimize the environmental impact of packaging, we continue to use FSC Mix paper, sourced entirely from responsibly managed forests in compliance with FSC’s1 environmental and social standards. To strengthen our commitment to progressively reducing the use of virgin plastic in our packaging, we implemented new internal process management measures and responsible purchasing choices: • We reduced the thickness of stretch film used to wrap pallets - without compromising their protection - while sourcing material made from recycled plastic; • For product lines requiring plastic hooks, we use hooks made of 100% recycled plastic. We also take an active part in a networking program promoted by one of our key customers, aimed at fostering sustainable development among participating companies. Within this network, Guardini both benefits from and contributes to a collaborative ecosystem that promotes shared know-how and the creation of strategic partnerships. This engagement translates into concrete projects designed to innovate business processes - such as reducing plastic use - thus reinforcing a model of responsible and future-oriented growth. wooden pallets recovered 100 % recycled plastic for packaging 26 % steel scraps and offcuts recovered 100 % [1] Forest Stewardship Council, an international non-profit NGO that has established a globally recognized forest certification system.
