46 2024 Sustainability Report The Scope 3 emissions inventory covered 100% of goods purchased and products sold. For the main macro-categories - steel, ceramics, paper, and plastics - which together account for 95.75% of the total weight sold, emissions were calculated with precision using a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach. For the remaining products, environmental impacts were estimated by applying a weighted average of emissions derived from the analyzed macro-categories. Data analysis shows that the most impactful category within Scope 3 is Category 11 – Use of sold products, which accounts for 92.68% of total CO2e emissions. The calculation of these impacts was carried out in accordance with the Product Category Rule (PCR) for the Tableware and Kitchenware sector, which requires inclusion of the product use phase, particularly washing. This category is predominant due to the long useful life of our products, which entails a high number of washing cycles over time. Durability, combined with quality, represents a core value for us, fully aligned with our commitment to providing sustainable, long-lasting solutions for our customers. To support these considerations, we refer to significant findings from the study "A Guide to Household Manual and Machine Dishwashing Through a Life Cycle Perspective". According to this research, the environmental impact of manual dishwashing can be reduced by up to 71% if best practices are followed: using a basin with hot water and soap for washing, followed by rinsing with cold water. This method is even more sustainable than dishwasher use, with an 18% lower impact, despite the high energy efficiency of new-generation appliances. Given the significant weight of Category 11, we also deemed it appropriate to represent our Scope 3 emissions with a histogram excluding this category, in order to make the results of the remaining emission categories more readable and comparable. The exclusion of Category 11 from Scope 3 allowed for a more accurate quantification of emissions associated with our value chain, amounting to 7,519.37 tons of CO2e. Moreover, this approach made it possible to identify the most strategic emission categories on which to focus reduction efforts. Among the categories analyzed, Category 1 (purchased goods and services) and Category 4 (upstream transportation and distribution) proved to be the most relevant in terms of environmental impact. These are areas where we can actively intervene, both through contractual levers with suppliers and by developing innovative products designed to reduce the environmental footprint. The Scope 3 analysis also enabled us to gain deeper insight into the overall environmental impact of our activities. The data collected strengthen our commitment to more sustainable production, exemplified by the promotion of the “XBake” line, made with low-CO2 steel. This is complemented by initiatives to raise customer awareness about the responsible use of our products, implemented through an information campaign on our social media channels LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
